Hilla Shie Levy

Adv. Hilla Shie Levy has been a member of the Israeli Bar Association since 2001 and of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) since 2013.

She began her professional career in the heart of the business metropolis of Tel Aviv (Israel), where she worked at the international firm Rosenberg, Keren Polak & Co., Advocates (now Rosenberg Schneller, Advocates), advising on corporate and business law, regulation of securities in the capital market, international taxation, contracts, trusts and estates. She also provided legal assistance in out-of-court negotiations and civil and commercial proceedings brought before the Israeli courts.

In 2006, she joined the renowned firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo in Madrid, which awarded her a full scholarship for a Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Internet, and Audiovisual Law and Business at the Institute of Stock Exchange Studies-IEB (graduation with Honors). At this firm, applying her knowledge of the legal systems of Spain and Israel, she advised legal entities and individuals for more than 16 years regarding their business and interests in these countries.

Among others, she provided legal advice on Spanish corporate and business law, in matters such as the formation, purchase and dissolution of companies, contracts and diverse operations forming part of the business activity. She also assisted clients in civil, commercial and administrative matters, including public tenders, in judicial proceedings and out-of-court negotiations in Spain, as well as in matters brought before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Arbitration Court.

For many years, Adv. Shie Levy has been giving lectures in Spain, Israel and the United States on various legal topics of interest in which she has been involved. Additionally, she has played an instrumental role in the “International Relations – Spanish Speaking Countries” Committee of the Israeli Bar Association, fostering collaboration between the Madrid and Israel Bar Associations.  

At Shalevet Abogados, she leads the legal practice of the office in Madrid, bringing her extensive experience to bear on a wide array of legal fields, assisting clients to operate across the Israeli and Spanish markets, capitalize on synergies and overcome challenges in a globalized economy.

Manuel María Sánchez Álvarez (Magistrate judge)

Adv. Manuel M. Sánchez Álvarez has served as a Magistrate judge (“Magistrado”) of the Spanish Judiciary since 1986, accumulating extensive experience in the resolution and oversight of commercial, civil, and criminal matters. Between 1993 and 1997, he held the position of Secretary General of the Síndic de Greuges (Ombudsman) of the Generalitat Valenciana, making a significant contribution to the institutional protection of citizens’ rights.

From 2001 to 2025, he brought his extensive judicial experience to his professional work as a lawyer in the Commercial and Corporate Law Department of the prestigious Spanish law firm Garrigues. In this firm, for over two decades, he advised companies, investors, and corporate groups on complex corporate and commercial matters, in areas such as national and international insolvency law, corporate restructuring and refinancing, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), commercial contracts, corporate governance, and financial and securities law, among others. He also participated in numerous litigation and procedural cases in commercial, civil, administrative, and constitutional law, providing a unique perspective derived from his dual experience as a judge and lawyer.

In parallel, Adv. Sánchez Álvarez (Magistrate) has developed a distinguished academic career. Since 2000, and for more than two decades, he has been a Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Since 1992, he has also focused on research in his areas of specialization, publishing an extensive body of work that includes over 35 articles in specialized journals and 145 contributions to collective works, in addition to coordinating several collective publications. In 2007, he was appointed an academic member of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) in Brussels, an international reference institution in the field of corporate governance.

In addition to his legal and judicial work, he holds a Doctorate in Commercial Law and has undertaken advanced studies in Classical Philology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, as well as in Art History at the UNED, reflecting his broad intellectual and humanistic perspective.
